About the Club
From humble beginnings in 2012, playing local league basketball across Cavan, Monaghan, Louth and Meath, the Cavan Eagles have grown into one of Ireland's leading community basketball clubs.
Today the club fields 26 teams and over 500 members, from U7 Dribblers to the Women's Super League. In 2024/25 the senior women completed an unbeaten National League Division One campaign and a National Cup win — a Division One Cup-and-League double that earned promotion to the Super League for 2025/26. The senior men step up to National League Division 2 for the first time in 2026/27.
The club is volunteer-run, family-focused and welcoming — with a thriving Inclusion programme and a schools outreach programme bringing basketball to the wider community.
Our Mission
Cavan Eagles Basketball Club is a competitive, volunteer-run community basketball club, here to grow the game right across Cavan and the North East and to help players of every age and ability play, belong and reach their full potential. From our U7 Dribblers to the Women's Super League and Men's National League, we are a family-focused club that develops players and people along a clear pathway from grassroots to national level, competes at the highest level we can reach, and represents our county with pride both on and off the court.
